Blues Magazine.NL just published a fabulous three-part interview with Jason Ricci that coincided with his recent tour through Holland in May. And don’t worry… no translation is necessary as everything was caught on video! Things kick off to a fun start as Ricci investigates De Muse, a harmonica museum located in Malden, Netherlands. Jason Ricci was featured in a recent issue of Japan’s Blues & Soul Records (No. 92). The two-page Q&A style article examined Ricci’s influences and the music of his latest CD Done With The Devil for a special issue which focused on harmonica. Ricci’s song Life Of Denial from his latest album was chosen for inclusion on the magazine’s sampler CD Blowin’ The Blues: Blues Harmonica Masters 1927-2009 which also featured tracks by Big Walter Horton, Memphis Jug Band, Sonny Boy Williamson, Junior Wells, Snooky Pryor, Johnny Dyer, Rod Piazza and Rick Estrin among many others.

Jason Ricci was presented with the 2010 Blues Music Award for Instrumentalist Harmonica at this year’s award show on Thursday, May 6, 2010 at the Cook Convention Center in Memphis, Tennessee. This was Ricci’s first win and third nomination overall (Done With The Devil was nominated for Rock Blues Album of the Year and Ricci was previously nominated for Instrumentalist Harmonica in 2009). Always a fiercely contended category this year was no different as Ricci shared the nomination with revered blues harp veterans Billy Branch, Kim Wilson, Mark Hummel and Rick Estrin. Congratulations Jason!!!

On May 2, 2009 Jason Ricci & New Blood had the fortunate opportunity to travel oversees and perform at the Moulin Blues Festival in Ospel, Holland to the delight of an enthusiastic crowd of appreciative music fans. Their electrifying performance was noted as being the highlight of this year’s entire event and definitely left a memorable impression on all of those who were lucky enough to witness the show.
